Coffee Frosting Recipe with Cream Cheese and Espresso Powder

Ingredients
- 1 stick unsalted butter softened to room temperature
- 8 ounces full-fat cream cheese softened (use brick form, not whipped or tub varieties)
- 4 cups powdered sugar
- 1 tablespoon instant espresso powder
- 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
Instructions
- Cream Together: In a stand mixer, add 1 stick unsalted butter (softened) on medium speed until creamy. Add the 8 ounces full-fat cream cheese (also softened) continue beating until the mixture is smooth and well combined.
- Add Espresso: In a small bowl, dissolve 1 tablespoon instant espresso powder into 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract. Pour this mixture into the butter and cream cheese blend, and mix until fully incorporated.
- Incorporate the Sugar: Gradually add the 4 cups powdered sugar, one cup at a time, mixing on low speed after each addition. Continue until the frosting is smooth, fluffy, and has reached your desired consistency. Do not overmix or the frosting may start to become grainy.
- Chill if Necessary: If the frosting becomes too soft to spread, refrigerate it for a few minutes to firm up before using.
