
Peppermint Cream Cheese Frosting Recipe
Cream cheese frosting is always a favorite and this twist on the classic recipe is great for any one who loves peppermint! It has a perfect balance of sweetness and peppermint freshness with a hint of vanilla, use it to top your favorite sugar cookie or try it with our Peppermint Hot Chocolate Cake or White chocolate Peppermint Cake! With pantry and fridge friendly ingredients it couldn’t be easier to make.
Equipment
- Electric hand mixer or Stand mixer
- medium mixing bowl
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter softened
- 8 oz full-fat brick cream cheese softened
- 4 cups confectioners’ sugar
- 1 1/2 teaspoons peppermint extract
- 1 1/2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
Instructions
- Prep: Soften the 8 oz full-fat brick cream cheese and 1/2 cup unsalted butter but be careful to not melt them.
- Cream together: Add the softened cream cheese and butter to a medium bowl and cream together. Add 2 cups of the confectioner’s sugar and mix again until mostly combined. Add 1 1/2 teaspoons peppermint extract and 1 1/2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract. Mix again and then add the remaining 2 cups of confectioners sugar, mix until smooth.
Notes
Store any left over frosting in the fridge in an airtight container.
