Tahini Chocolate Chip Cookies Recipe
This is one of the BEST chocolate chip cookies I have ever had. The tahini gives this cookie an incredible chewy texture and deepens the chocolate flavor. Overall, this tahini chocolate chip cookie is a richer, bakery-style chocolate chip cookie with a deepened chocolate, nutty flavor, and incredible texture.
Equipment
- 1 medium mixing bowl
- Electric Mixer
- Baking sheet
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup softened butter
- 1/2 cup tahini
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup white sugar
- 1 room temperature egg
- 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
- 1 3/4 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon espresso powder or instant coffee
- Pinch of salt
- 1 1/2 cups chocolate chips
Instructions
- Prep: Preheat your oven to 350F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Cream together: To a medium bowl add 1/2 cup softened butter, 1/2 cup tahini, 3/4 cup brown sugar, and 1/2 cup white sugar. Cream together using a whisk or or electric mixer. Add 1 room temperature egg and 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla, mix again until fully combined.
- Mix dry ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together 1 3/4 cups flour, 1 teaspoon baking soda, 1 teaspoon espresso powder or instant coffee and a Pinch of salt for about a minute.
- Combine wet & dry ingredients: Add the flour mixture to the butter-sugar mixture. Mix until fully combined and a dough forms. Fold in 1 1/2 cups chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
- Bake: Use a cookie or ice cream scoop to form 14 cookie dough balls and place them on a parchment paper lined baking sheet. Bake on 350F for about 10 minutes. Look for browned edges and a lighter color in the middle top to know they’re ready.
