These magic bars with macadamia nuts are INSANELY delicious and seriously couldn’t be easier to make. This gourmet recipe combines rich chocolate, crunchy macadamia nuts, and sweet coconut for a quick sweet treat that's so simple to make.

Equipment

  • 1 9×9 baking dish
  • Parchment paper

Ingredients
  

  • 1 1/2 cups Graham cracker crumbs
  • 1/2 cup almond flour
  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup butterscotch morsels optional! If you don’t like butterscotch skip this or substitute with more chocolate chips
  • 1 cup salted macadamia nuts
  • 1 cup sweetened shredded coconut
  • 1 14 ounce can condensed milk

Instructions
 

  • Prep and Preheat: Preheat oven to 350F (170 C). Line a 9×9 greased baking pan with parchment paper, this makes life easier when it's time to slice and serve.
  • Crust: Mix 1 1/2 cups Graham cracker crumbs, 1/2 cup almond flour, and 1/3 cup melted butter until combined Then add 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract and mix again. Press into the bottom of the lined 9×9 pan in an even layer to form the crust.
  • Layer: Add a layer of each of the following: 1 1/2 cups semisweet chocolate chips, 1/2 cup butterscotch morsels, 1 cup salted macadamia nuts, and 1 cup sweetened shredded coconut. Then pour 1 14 ounce can condensed milk on top as evenly as possible.
  • Bake: Bake at 350F for about 25 minutes. The magic bars, especially the macadamia nuts, will become a golden brown when ready.
  • Cool and serve: Remove the bars from the oven and allow to cool completely before slicing into squares. Enjoy!

  1. Could recipe be doubled and baked in 9 x 13 pan ?

    Also if no macadamia nuts, could salted cashews be used ?

    Plan on making these for a church bake sale. Would like to do larger batch.

    1. Hi Therese! While I haven’t tested it, I think you can make the recipe in a 9×13 by increasing each ingredient by an additional 50% (essentially making it 1.5 times each ingredient). For example, instead of 1/2 cup almond flour, use 3/4 cups and so on. Bake times may differ too, so I’d recommend keeping a close eye on it.

      I think salted cashews would be amazing here. Great idea.
